FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE)

FrontPage Server Extensions are a set of server-side scripts and programs which enable users of Microsoft FrontPage to use its special components (called WebBots). FrontPage Server Extensions are CGI (Common Gateway Interface) programs which provide the server side implementation of FrontPage. The Extensions implement Authoring (uploading/downloading documents, To Do Lists, etc.), Administration (setting end-user, author, and administrator privileges), and Dynamic Content (browse-time WebBot components).

What are WebBots?

WebBots are the mechanism for invoking many of the interactive features built into FrontPage. These features are added to your website through the FrontPage Editor from the Insert -> Web Component menu.

IMPORTANT

Microsoft has discontinued support for FrontPage Server Extensions on Linux Servers and will gradually discontinue support for FrontPage Server Extensions altogether (for Windows Servers too). Hence, FrontPage Server Extensions have been discontinued on Instant Host Technologies's all Web Servers.

Therefore, you need to use a dedicated File Transfer software like CuteFTP, WS FTP to upload content to your website. Transferring files through such FTP software is far faster and efficient than using FrontPage. There are also free Windows FTP software available; one such client is Core FTP.
